01 / The current build

2020 Ford Transit 350

A former commercial service van. A future family camper, mobile workspace and long-term product-testing platform.

I’m documenting the transformation as it happens: what I install, how it performs, and what I would change after living with it.

Power stations, solar, batteries and charging, 12V electrical systems, AC power, roof racks, seating, storage, refrigeration, induction cooking, air fryers, pressure cookers, climate control, lighting, cameras, electronics, tools, camping equipment and vehicle accessories all have a practical place in this build.

02 / Already on the workbench

Real content. Already planned.

The projects come first. A useful product can become part of something I’m already working on.

Planned concepts, not promises to a particular sponsor. Products, test conditions and final scope will determine what gets made.

01 / PLANNED TEST

CAN A PORTABLE POWER STATION RUN MY CPAP ALL NIGHT?

Real overnight test measuring energy consumption and remaining battery capacity.

02 / PLANNED TEST

HOW MANY NIGHTS CAN YOU RUN A CPAP OFF-GRID?

Testing realistic overnight power requirements and calculating usable nights per charge.

03 / PLANNED TEST

HOW TO CONNECT SOLAR PANELS TO A PORTABLE POWER STATION

Real Ford Transit solar installation, connections, configuration, input wattage, and charging performance.

04 / PLANNED TEST

I TESTED 5 INDUCTION COOKTOPS FOR VANLIFE

Same cookware and conditions. Compare peak watts, total Wh consumed, cooking performance, low-power control, and battery impact.

05 / PLANNED TEST

CAN YOU USE AN INSTANT POT IN A CAMPER VAN?

Cook an actual meal and measure total energy consumption.

06 / PLANNED TEST

CAN YOU RUN AN AIR FRYER FROM A PORTABLE POWER STATION?

Real cooking test measuring power demand and battery consumed per meal.

07 / PLANNED TEST

INDUCTION VS AIR FRYER VS INSTANT POT

Which electric cooking method gets the most useful cooking done per Wh?

08 / PLANNED TEST

HOW TO POWER A 12V FUSE PANEL FROM A PORTABLE POWER STATION

Build and demonstrate a practical DC distribution system for USB-C, refrigeration, lighting, and other van loads.

09 / PLANNED TEST

ADDING GFCI-PROTECTED AC POWER TO MY CAMPER VAN SETUP

Document a properly designed removable AC distribution setup powered from a portable power station.

10 / PLANNED TEST

HOW MUCH POWER DOES MY CAMPER VAN ACTUALLY USE IN 24 HOURS?

Measure refrigeration, computer/workstation, lighting, phones, cooking, CPAP, and other real loads.

11 / PLANNED TEST

CAN SOLAR REPLACE EVERYTHING I USED YESTERDAY?

Compare a full day of energy consumption against actual solar production.

12 / PLANNED TEST

CAN I WORK FROM MY VAN ALL DAY ON PORTABLE POWER?

Run the computer, monitor, connectivity, refrigerator, lighting, and charging loads.

13 / PLANNED TEST

30 DAYS LIVING WITH A PORTABLE POWER STATION

Long-term review covering what worked, what didn't, and what I would change.

03 / Beyond the unboxing

One product. A longer useful life.

A good product can stay visible in evergreen tutorials, comparisons, build documentation and follow-up content.

Built to be found again.

Relevant tutorials, reviews, installation guides and comparisons can also become evergreen content on owned websites.

Alongside social content, I own and operate publishing sites where useful project documentation can continue to be discovered through search.

08 / How I work

Real products.
Real projects. Real opinions.

I’m most interested in products I can actually use.

Products should fit naturally into something I’m already building, testing, fixing or trying to understand. Receiving a product does not guarantee a positive review. Useful tests include what worked, what didn’t, and what I would change.

09 / Current collaboration interests
